Service Description

Maintain and improve your health and wellbeing in this all abilities yoga class. There comes a point in your life where health is more than going to the gym and doing the same thing you did when you were 20. Your body is changing and so is your energy. Your movement routine needs to work with your body to bring you freedom in midlife, retirement, and beyond. Each class will go deeper into the topic of our free monthly workshop, but also has value as a stand alone class. Here’s what you can expect during our practice: - 10 min - Introduction around the theme of practice. Get the context to connect what we’re doing to life off the mat and have the info playing in the background of your mind during practice. - 55 min - Practice to feel the talk in your body, grow your awareness, and build your movement skills. In this all abilities yoga class, you’ll see different options you can try to bring in more challenge or softness. Class is movement mixed with breath, moving in and out of poses repeatedly, as well as slightly longer held poses. There might event be some myofascial release (self massage using props). You’re invited to get curious as you pay attention to what’s happening inside your body. Expect savasana (the resting period) to be at least 7 minutes in order to help you rest, give your body time to reflect, and regain energy. - 10 min - Q & A. Ask questions and get answers in a space that honors your lived experience. Props to bring: - 2 blocks - 2 myofascial balls (or tennis balls) - 1 strap (or long scarf/belt/towel) - 1 chair (optional) - located by a wall (optional) Upcoming topics for the months: - April 10, 17, 24 - balance foundations in your body - May 8, 15, 22, 29 - balance strategies for real life (beyond standing on one leg) - June 12, 19, 26 - Core Strength Beyond Six Packs This is a sliding scale class. Please use the drop down menu to choose one of the following. - Supporter - if you would like to provide an $8 scholarship to someone in need - Sustainer - if you're able to invest the normal amount - Community - if you would like to receive an $8 scholarship (no questions asked)
